Today, more businesses and organizations are finding the need to have a presence on the Internet and the World Wide Web--but find that their name of choice is unavailable in .COM. The goal for the .SITE top-level domain is to attract organizations, small and large businesses, entrepreneurs and any other persons or entities interested in having an alternative, clearly identifiable domain with which they can associate themselves, their products, and their services.
To buy a new second-level domain name in .COM costs about $10 annually. In practice, however, most useful names in .COM can only be found on the secondary market at a price of thousands of dollars or more. The need for an alternative general website extension is real, and our mission is to make that available with .SITE.
