The ACO community derives from the drainage manufacturer ACO Severin Ahlmann GmbH & Co. KG. The ACO community members are ACO Severin Ahlmann GmbH & Co. KG and its globally affiliated companies in which ACO Severin Ahlmann GmbH & Co. KG holds a majority interest as published in the annual report.

ACO is led by Hans-Julius Ahlmann, Hans-Peter Meyer and Peter Fröhlich. Both sons of CEO Hans-Julius Ahlmann are along with their father shareholder of ACO Severin Ahlmann GmbH & Co. KG has been founded on 10th of December 1946 in Buedelsdorf as „SAB“ – Severin Ahlmann Betonindustrie on the site of the Carlshütte foundry – Schleswig-Holstein’s first industrial company. The company has been been renamed on 19.01.1972 to ACO Severin Ahlmann GmbH & Co. KG. The duration of the company is not restricted to a certain period, but of a longlasting nature. The object of the company is the development, production and sale of drainage systems. Products include drainage channels and drains, oil and grease separators, backflow prevention systems, pumps and cellar windows and light shafts.
