The “公益” string has been included in the “Internationalized Domain Names Character Table (.CN Chinese)”, which was uploaded to IANA website. (http:⁄⁄www.iana.org⁄domains⁄idn-tables⁄tables⁄cn_zh-cn_4.0.html, see Q15_attachment_zh-CN table) The table was adopted by China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) for the registration of “.CN” and “.中国”Chinese domain names. CONAC also adopts this table for the registration of “.公益” domain names in Chinese for top level string application and second level and other levels registration..

China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) spent several years developing the Internationalized Domain Names Character Table (.CN Chinese). Several experts and linguists made contributions in the process. The Chinese IDN table of the “.CN” TLD follows the format given in the RFC3743, and is in compliance with ICANN Guidelines for IDN registration and for publication in the IANA. From the day that “.中国” has been delegated as a TLD by ICANN in June of 2010, this table has also been implemented in Chinese Domain Name (CDN) registrations in each subdomain under “.中国” TLD. CONAC as the applicant registry for “.公益” will implement the table with support of the Registration and Administration Guideline for Chinese Domain Names. When putting the IDN standard into practice, the IDN table employs an inclusion-based approach (i.e. code points not explicitly permitted by the registry are prohibited).
