Representatives of Moser Holding’s family management play active roles in various community organisations. Moser Holding AG is a member of Member of ʺBrotbruderschaft Tirolʺ, of Club Tyrol, of the Technique Development Association Tirol, of IFRA, of INMA, of the Federation of Austrian Industries, of the Association of the City Center Innsbruck Curatorship Safe Austria, of the ʺOffiziersgesellschaft Tirolʺ, of ʺSozialverein Moser Holdingʺ (charity), of the Economy Union of Tyrol, of the trade chamber Tirol, of the tourism board Tirol and of WAN (World Association of Newspaper and News Publishers).

Punkt Tirol GmbH’s CEO Bernhard Greil was until 2007 the CEO of Telesystem Tirol (biggest Tyrolean ISP) and is the CEO of New Media Online GmbH (owner of tt.com and radio.at) as well as the Head of Online of Moser Holding AG. He is a member of the board of “Oesterreichische WebAnalyse” and an active member of „Bruderschaft St. Christoph“ (international association caritative of Tirol). CEO Markus Kichl is the General Secretary of Moser Holding AG and a member of the „Kitzbuehler Skiclub“, which is the organizer of the world-famous „Hahnenkamm Skirace“.

The applicant punkt Tirol GmbH is a subsidiary of Moser Holding AG. Moser Holding AG is one of the leading publishers in Austria, its flagship being the daily Tiroler Tageszeitung. The company was founded in 1946 to continue the publication of Tiroler Tageszeitung which was initially edited by the US Army. Moser Holding AG has also been the operator of www.tirol.com since 1996 and offers newspapers, television, Internet services and more. Punkt Tirol GmbH files this application with the explicit support of the Federal Austrian State of Tirol.

* ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISMS *

The applicant Punkt Tirol GmbH has entered into an agreement with the Federal State of Tirol to operate .TIROL under license by the state. The agreement clearly defines the conditions under which Punkt Tirol GmbH is allowed to operate the .TIROL top-level domain. The .TIROL top-level domain will be used according to policies developed by the State of Tirol and the applicant which have cooperated closely on the development of this proposal.

The applicant may install a council similar to the well-proven Domain Council of the .at ccTLD Registry operator. The council would determine the basic principles for the assignment policy of domain names. Members of the council would be national experts, representatives of Internet users and service providers as well as representatives of the State Government of Tirol.
